FC Production Manager

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:


Essential Functions

  1. Monitor operation to ensure goals are met and work is done in compliance with established policies and procedures

  2. Responsible for managing, coaching and developing 3-7 supervisors and 40-110 employees through personal coaching and stretch assignments

  3. Champion a safe work environment and ensure all staff are adhering to OSHA and company safety standards

  4. Build annual budget and manage to the budget. Control supply costs and labor usage to meet RLPMH (Revenue Lines per Man Hour) and CPL (Cost Per Line)

  5. Generate new approaches to solving business issues by championing alternative ideas and promoting a continuous improvement philosophy with all staff

  6. Develop reporting and tracking metrics to monitor business results and trends

  7. Promote the open flow of communication within the operation and foster an environment of employee engagement

  8. Participate in the resolution of employee issues, assuring timeliness and consistency

  9. Maintain regular and predictable attendance

  10. Abide by all policies and procedures of Oriental Trading Company, Inc.

  11. Must be able to attend face to face meetings on short or little notice

  12. Work in the Fulfillment Center Department office environment requires in-person collaboration among colleagues and contractors

Marginal Functions

  1. May be required to perform any of the above functions at any of the company locations

  2. Other duties and special projects as assigned

  3. May manage and support multiple shifts

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Strong soft skills and ability to lead through direct and indirect reports

  • Strong written and verbal communications

  • Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines

  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications preferred



  • Bachelor?s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience



  • Minimum two years supervisory experience in a multi-flow production environment


Other Qualifications and Physical Requirements

  • Ability to frequently lift or carry up to 35 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to work in elevated work areas up to 28 feet high

  • Ability to stand, sit and/or walk the entire shift

  • Ability to climb stairs

  • Able to perform functions of the job in a safe manner


Equipment Utilization

Telephone, PC, facsimile machine, radio, copier, OTC communication equipment, RF scanning devices, multiple types of material handling equipment

Dimensions of Responsibility

Partner with directors and department managers from other areas within the company to ensure that the production decision making process is aligned with the organization. ?Promote a collaborative team environment with other fulfillment center and division directors and managers with an employee and customer centric approach to projects and initiatives.

Description of Working Conditions

Generally, works in a warehouse environment in an active fulfillment center where variations in light, noise, and temperature may occur, and where exposure to dust may be a factor.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
